Updating this wee 1950’s original caravan, has been on my radar for over 13 years at TrailLite. Originally the owner and I had selected fire engine red for the exterior with cream/black tyres. Ideas were thrown around, and it was decided to keep the original exterior colours. The entire exterior body of the caravan was rebuilt, and repainted. The original kitchen was kept and re varnished, lighting also kept and tidied. Black/White checker board vinyl was perfect to ground the space. New squabs were made (the original were horse hair and inner sprung), with contrasting vinyl piping. I sourced a New Zealand Designed Fabric featuring our native birds for the drapery, and soft sorbet coloured fabric cushions, for the touch of nostalgia.
